Macbeth in het Chassé
On Wednesday afternoon Febr 2nd, 15 pre-university pupils were in for a treat. Along with Ms Van Beek and their own Teacher of English Mr Schilder they went to see a new rendition of William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, starring Denzel Washington as the infamous epic hero.
These pupils weren’t forced to watch this 400-year-old play as some might expect, but actually chose to come along voluntarily, obviously to their teacher’s delight. At the Chassé Theatre they watched the two-hour, black and white, true to the book masterpiece by the Bard. Reactions varied from ‘absolutely marvellous’ to ‘it wasn’t as bad as I expected.’ All in all, fun was had by everyone on this school outing, an activity which has become some so rare these days.
